Well, it seems that I have been negligent in my postings. Since my last post, I rode Ft Custer, Luton Park and around home on the road bike a couple times racking up another 56 miles. I am planning on getting out Thursday and Saturday again probably on the road, which isn't bad I like both. I can rack up miles on the road and it is a nice smooth ride. Off road offers better scenery and a harder workout, but sometimes it is a hassle getting to a trail to ride, it is a big time investment to ride a trail.

Tonight I logged 15.9 miles, bringing my total for the year past the century mark. I noticed tonight that the majority of the road kill around my house consists of turtles, seems odd, but there is a lot of water around. Hopefully I will get a few mord miles in this week and put a dent in my next 100 miles!

Went for a ride at Canonsburg SGA again today, this time two laps, about 15.5 miles. The weather was perfect and it was a fun ride, but I was spent at the end, I have to ride more. Last weeks plans fizzled due to work and weather, this week doesn't look much better on either front, but I will get out if I can.

12.2 miles on the road tonight in 48 minutes = 15 mph avg :)
33.4 mph peak down the big hill!

Got out to a new trail today, Sean and I went to Canonsburg State Game Area. It was a nice ride, the trail is definately one to ride again, the climbs don't kill you and there is little sand. We will have to go back there again. The ride was about 7.5 miles. I would like to get out and get some miles this week, I will have to see how busy it is.

I have not had a chance to ride with all the chaos at work, hopefully I can make it out this weekend.

I got out early this morning on the stumpjumper, I rode 9.5 miles on the road. I picked the stumpy today because I neede to check a few adjustments and fine tune them before heading to a trail again. I would really like to get out more, but finding the time is a challenge.

I was going to ride this afternoon, but the Chinese lunch did not agree with that plan, hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and can get out early before the bugs.

finally

Got the road bike out for a quick 5.8 mi. could have gone longer, but it was getting dark. I hit the big hill by our house and maintained 10 mph for the climb except when I stopped to hack out a bug, they were bad. Maybe again Saturday?

The Fort

We went to Fort Custer today and I made it 10 miles off road before I couldn't take it any more. I need to get a few more miles under me before I take another trip to ride. Since this week is bike to work week and there is no way I am riding to work, I am going to try to ride everyday that I can. So far I have plans for Monday, but the rest of the week is open. I should be able to double my miles for the year this week.

Saturday, May 16, 2009

I did not make it out this morning, but I have everything ready to go for Fort Custer tomorrow afternoon.

Friday, May 15, 2009

I didn't ride today, but I did go to the bike store. I took the boys and spent more time chasing them than looking at stuff, oh well, I will have to go back solo some time.
Maybe I can sneak out tomorrow morning - weather permitting.

Road Ride

I finally got the Sequoia out for a ride, I made it 7.8 miles. I planned on 5, but kept going. The road bike is much smoother and quieter riding than the mountain bike on the road. Now that I got a start, I will have to try hard to keep it up. We are planning an excursion to Ft. Custer on Sunday afternoon, I don't think I am ready for that yet but we'll see.

Got to do it!

I was going to ride today, but was derailed by a project that took longer than expected. Thursday or Friday look like good weather days, we will see.
